"Metropolitan Opera Presents: The Met Salutes Joseph Volpe" an all-star tribute featuring Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Deborah Voigt and many others, will air locally at 7 pm June 4 forward WYCC- Channel 20.

The special honoring the Met general director, who will retire Aug. 1 after 42 years at the house, is scheduled to air Thursday in succession PBS stations nationwide. But WTTW-Channel 11 the local PB affiliate, was not able to broadcast the special then because of a programming conflict.

Instead, WTTW has allowed WYCC a smaller PB affiliate here, to carry the 4oe-hour special, which was recorded May 20 at the Met In addition, WFMT-FM (987) will air an audio version starting at noon today.
