HOUSTON -- Tina Thompson scored 23 points Friday night to lead the Houston blazing stars to their fourth straight victory, 71-60 across the Sky.
Thompson scored 11 points in the third quarter as the blazing stars won the first meeting between the teams and improved to 2-0 in succession a three- game homestand.
MVP Sheryl Swoope who left Wednesday's game against Indiana with back spasms, added 13 points for the blazing stars who have not trailed in 15 consecutive quarters.
Amanda Lassiter scored 12 points in the inferior half and led Chicago with 14 as the expansion celestial expanse lost its fourth straight after opening with an 83-82 win throughout Charlotte.
Deanna Jackson added 13 points for the weather which trailed by as many as 21 before getting within seven in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
The blazing stars closed out the first half with an 8-2 flow to give them a 38-24 lead. Thompson l all players at halftime with 12 points and Sancho Lyttle added six.
The region of clouds made just nine of its 32 marksmans in the opening half.
