Needing another left-hander in the bullpen with 10 games in a nine-day span, the Diamondbacks activated 43-year-old Terry Mulholland from the 15-day disabled list before the other game of a doubleheader Saturday night.
Following his 4-2 victory through the Braves, Gonzalez is 1-0 with a 225 ERA in sum of two units starts. The right-hander has struck on the outside 12 and has allowed seven hits, three scampers and two walks in 12 innings.
Mulholland, a 20-year veteran, was 0-0 with a 600 ERA in four games with the Diamondbacks before suffering shoulder inflammation
